What is really a important way of saving our planets and fossil fuels is the green car. A green car does not have to be an electric car or a hybrid, it can a be a car that has really good mpg or miles per gallon. What car do you think of when you think about saving gas? Honda,Toyota, Hyundai or Nissan? Well they have been known for saving gas in the past, but not anymore. The company with the most cars with the highest mpg, beating all other car manufacturers is Chevrolet. Starting with the Aveo Sedan that offers an EPA estimated 35 MPG highway. That's better standard highway fuel economy than Hyundai Accent and Nissan Versa. The Aveo5 hatchback offers the same but has smaller body, but still with plenty of room inside. With a base price of both being under $13,000 these cars are absolutely affordable. Another car from Chevrolet the new Chevrolet Cruze. The Cruz offers the Eco option which gives an outstanding 42 mpg. with great styling and performance. If you want to spend a little less money and get the standard Cruze, don't worry about getting to little mpg because the Cruze offers 36 mpg standard. Another new car that has been getting word talk from everywhere is the Chevrolet Volt. The Volt is Chevrolet's electric car, but also has gasoline engine in it so if your power runs out you don't have to worry. The Volt was given 2011 Motor Trends Car of The Year, 2011 North American Car of The Year and also 2011 Green Car of The year by The Green Journal, being the first electric car to win this award. What makes the Volt different from all other gas/electric car is that when its electric engine runs out and the gas engine takes over, the gas engine not only works as an engine, but also as generator to create more electricity for the electric engine to continue running on electricity. No other car manufacturer has ever done this. They either have an all electric motor that eventually runs out after a few miles because of their low technology sophistication or they have a gas motor and an electric motor that just gives the gas motor a little boost ,but still releases gasses into the air.
