Today our class performed our experiments on stage in front of other classes. Our group performed the Bubbling Pumpkin, but we did not perform the Egg in a bottle experiment because the materials were not available at that time. Our experiment was successful and it was liked by the audience. Our group had fun doing everything and I hope to go elementry schools Friday to perform the same experiments. I was the reporter in the group so I filmed our experiments with my Flip camera which I will later post on here.

Our group will be performing the experiments Egg in a bottle and Bubbling pumpkin. The Egg in a bottle experiment will involve a narrow mouthed glass bottle, a hard boiled egg with the shell taken off, and a few pieces of paper to light fire. We will place the egg on top of the bottle and show the audience that the egg does not go in, then we will remove the egg and drop a lighten paper in the bottle and place the egg on top again. It will create a vacuum and will suck the egg inside the bottle. We then repeat the process, but with the egg inside of the bottle and the egg shooting out. In our other experiment Bubbling pumpkin, it will involve a pumpkin cut with a design of a face of some sort, a glass bottle filled with soapy watter and dry ice will be placed inside of the pumpkin. Dry ice bubbles will create from the two and it will start oozing from the mouth and toward the audience and pop in a white smoke form. We look forward to perform the experiments and do our seperate jobs.

The materials needed for the experiment Egg in a bottle are eggs, a wide-mouthed glass drink bottle(such as a starbucks frappuccino bottle), vegatable oil, matches and strips of paper. Our other experiment, Bubbling pumpkin, we are having a difficult time trying to find the materials, but we will have them soon. I think that our experiments are really cool and I am looking forward to actually seeing them being performed.

Oct.15, 2010 Reflection

The demonstration of the bubbling pumpkin, it involves a pumpkin that ends up looking as if it was throwing up. Our other demonstration the egg in the bottle, we have not seen yet, because I the reporter don't have internet access, but will see it later.
I was able to make my first blogg today, which was very exciting. I will post more posts in the future. I found the instructions easy, which was good. I felt comfortable with everything.
